Rex by Request

A while back, Rex fans were asked to vote for their favourite Rex episodes, with the five most popular to end up on a special issue 'Rex by Request' DVD. A good thing for anyone who wanted a couple of episodes, nothing to tempt the 'die-hards' who already had the full set of series.

It got me thinking about the flipside though. Is there a Rex episode you cannot stand to watch?

For me, one such episode is 'Besessen' or 'Obsessed'. Not that there's anything particular wrong with the storyline but the music drives me INSANE. Lucky for you all that I couldn't find a segment online, otherwise I'd have inflicted it on you!

What about you?

Some of the later episodes were bleak and really quite hard-hitting. What about "One Always Dies" or "When Children Want to Die" from season 7?

I'll have to dig out "One Always Dies", can't remember that one off hand. "When Children Want to Die" was a much darker storyline, you're right.

"One Always Dies" was about the Russian refugees being forced to play Russian Roulette while wealthy Austrians bet on the outcome. Again, bleak stuff.

Ah yes, you have a better memory for me. Amazes me that Rex often gets promoted as family entertainment...some of the themes need caution.

And, thanks Nikki, a sense of relief here that I'm not the only Rex obsessive. Although we might be the only two.....

No, you are not alone, Wurst Semmel. But we might be!
