Rex Resolution 22: Tod eines Kindes

One of our favourites, Katzenzungen, is prominently featured in this episode. This household just ate its way through a couple of boxes over Christmas.

In this episode, a child's body is found floating in a public swimming pool, closed for the winter season. Unlikely to be a tragic accident, there's little to go on until Dr. Graf ascertains that the child was first strangled and then dumped, still alive, into water to drown, only not in this pool! Post mortem indicates the child drowned in pure water.

This gives Moser the clue he needs to locate the crime scene and the action relocates to a spa pool, where the team locate the girl's missing purse. To lure the suspect out, they report the purse missing in the press and stake out the baths to see if the perpetrator will return to the scene to collect the evidence. In typical Rex fashion, a red herring is thrown into the works as the pool caretaker inadvertently approaches the lure purse.

It's far more complex than that, but, in the interest of not ruining the storyline, I'll leave it as the team needing to look much further afield.

Sonja's and Moser's relationship continues to develop and Rex seems a little less resistant.

Other players include Suzanne Czepl, above, not listed with IMDB for this episode, Josef Daubek not listed in IMDB, Roman Bayer not listed with IMDB, Robert Taurer not listed with IMDB. Johanna Lonsky, above, not listed with IMDB for this episode, and Daniela Gaets again.

Recycled Rexers include August Schmoelzer, not credited with IMDB for this episode but also listed for Verliebt in einen Moerder (2002) as Fritz Kunz (now, hang on a second, that can't be right....! I'll have to verify this when I get to that episode.)
