If you're watching the Rex in Rome series final tonight (SBS, 7.30pm), be sure to have a huge box of Kleenex close by. Expect a tsunami of tears.
And, no, it has nothing to do with Kaspar Capparoni doing his best Fabio impersonation as seen below in Pole Dancing 101. From the holes worn in the knees of his trousers, I'm guessing 'novice', right? A sight guaranteed to bring anyone to tears. I just had to share this. Hee.

So, what happens next? Earlier, a little SBS bird told me Stockinger would be re-run. Guess we'll have to see.
NEWFLASH! SBS have told me they are running repeats of the Brandtner series from next week.

Dear Wurstsemmel, thank you so much for all the fantastic Rex moments you have brought back to us Rexers out here in cyberspace. I have just caught up with them all! Well done!!
One other thing, WS...have you seen an episode in which Marc Hoffmann dies? I have read about it on a French website but I don't believe SBS have ever shown it.
Hello Nikki,
thought I must have inundated you with too much Rex. have to say, with episode 35 under my belt, I'm struggling....
....but, no, I haven't seen such an episode....that would certainly explain where he suddenly disappeared to...I guess it's a possibility as our series don't match the original series but why on earth would SBS leave out such a crucial moment and it's not on any of the DVDS.
Wonder if anyone else reading can help?
WS
Hello Wurstsemmel,
You're doing a brilliant job - that's a lot of Rex!
I found the information on "Tod Hoffmann" (listed here as episode 11 of the 10th season) at http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Hajek#Treizi.C3.A8me_saison_.282009-2010.29
SBS, in my opinion, have made a bit of a mess of screening their ratings winner Rex, so who knows where this episode has got to.
And Vienna is my favourite city too!
I'll check that out, Nikki. Curious.
See the update? Back to Brandtner next week.
Regarding Vienna. Absolutely. As a Brit, I always say I mistakenly put an additional syllable on my emigration form!
Well, having just watched it, don't you think that Fabiobert or whatever his name is would have called the dog ambulance? I mean, really, leaving our Rexy to bleed to death on an Italian beach... Humph.
I presume that they will come up with an ingenious "look, he's back and didn't die after all" storyline for the next series? I hope?
I've kind of enjoyed the Rome series - the dog is a good Rex, at any rate - but, ah, bring back Moser and the good old days in Vienna, I say! Not to mention the Wurst Semmel...
(Great blog, by the way, please keep it up. Yes, there are quite a few of us quiet Rex Tragics out there.)
What an episode! Poor Rex!! But I do feel you're right Harry - Rex will have a miraculous recovery once he is back on Austrian soil again and biting into a Wurstsemmel...I hope.
Good point, Harry, and thanks for the comment.
I personally was waiting for Fabio to give him the kiss of life.
Of course, he can't be dead. There is a series 10 in Rome, although SBS don't seem to be showing it.
