Rex Resolution 27: Ueber den Daechern von Wien

Okay. Australia Day (today, the 26th January) is typically a big barbecue day. However, setting alight to a car containing an unconscious woman, before pushing it over a drop, is probably taking things a little too far.

When the corpse is first discovered, it looks like a simple car accident but some irregularities mean Moser and team are called in to investigate.

The woman's husband seems distraught when Moser and Stocki visit to pass on the bad news. What they don't know is that he has a very 'naughty' female hidden away in his apartment, with whom he seems to do little else but eat luxurious food and make love. Probably the reason why he's soon out buying oysters (got to boost that libido a little more....), when he gets challenged by a woman who lets him know she knows everything he's up to! Such a silly thing to say really. Such a statement never bodes well for the mutterer in an episode of Inspector Rex.

When Dr. Graf manages to reconstruct the face of the car victim, it becomes apparent all is not as thought and the team must look a little closer at the husband.

Oh, and get your tissues ready, this episode prepares us for the departure of Stockinger to greener pastures (Salzburg) and an offshoot series.

Rex Resolution 7:Tanz auf dem Vulkan

Dance on the volcano. I'm not sure what it is about this particular episode but it seems I might just have to sit on the volcano, specifically an erupting one, to keep me awake. Works like a dream (no pun intended) every single time, today being no exception.

The beginning is exciting enough. Crim takes desperate measures to escape mandatory treatment at the hands of inexperienced dental student at the University Clinic. Dontophobic as I am, even I feel that's a little excessive.

Turns out crim Borek is a Pole with a charge list as long as your arm and he's on the run to collect a mysterious suitcase. Even with an extremely vague idea of the area he might be in, Moser and Stocki happen to pull up outside a church just as Borek emerges, suitcase in hand. If only life were always so simple.

The chase is on! Exciting? Well, no.

Borek ends up in a ballet school with a handful of tutu-ed hostages. This is where I start losing interest. Apparently the case contains highly radioactive plutonium...somehow I've never stayed awake for the part that reveals why and what Borek is doing with it...or maybe it isn't explained...because I always wake up for the outcome.
