Brand new Rex! BYO hankies

Well, you know what a tear jerker the last episode was. This week Rex returns on SBS, Wednesday, 7.30pm ...so we can presume that Rex lived. Still, be prepared to ring out those hankies and recycle. Rex has never been one to let you off the hook when it comes to a quick weep.

The new series, 10 in Australia, is still set in Rome. I've been trying to find out what is happening with regard to Rex moving back to Vienna but heard nothing. No news, as they say, is good news. Let's hope so.
Back to logging Rex episodes soon....

Just not cricket!

Brandtner and team let their feelings be known outside SBS.

Cricket or Rex? It should be a no-brainer, right? It obviously is for someone at SBS because tonight's Rex episode has again been shafted for the Test match. *Massive yawn*

Rex will be back next week but note that it will be moving to Wednesdays at 7.35pm.

Thanks to Feronia for the heads-up on that.

Stockinger

Still in swine flu recovery BUT have noticed, for those of us currently not working, Stockinger is being screened at lunch times (1pm) on SBS Tuesdays. For others, remember to set your recorders.

And, of course, Rex returns to its regular timeslot this week.

Free REX - with subtitles!

SBS, when it comes to all things Rex, you can be so naughty (running episodes out of order, that soundtrack DVD) but now I know you can also be quite nice.

Catch free episodes of Rex online at SBS and click on the Watch Full Episodes tab. For this week, link directly to the Rex episode, Death Came Twice, shown last night.

I'll create a link to the current online episode in the side bar and update the link as necessary.

Inspector Rex soundtrack

I finally got a copy. I can't help thinking this is a bit of a money-making exercise though. For an Inspector Rex soundtrack, there's really very little in the way of music from the series, not even the original Inspector Rex theme, just the two tracks used in the Italian series. While I don't mind the classical music, it's not really featured in Rex.

Has anyone else got a copy? Nikki? What do you think?

And....something interesting in the poll section....seems we suddenly have an avid Brandtner fan. Somehow he's scored 150 plus votes in the past week or so. Voting that many times? That's dedication!

Still watching.....

Still watching an episode a day but just getting held up writing up...many balls being juggled and trying to avoid dropping a few. Catch up with the write ups soon.

In the meantime, why not amuse yourself with some Rex games at the official Kommissar Rex site?

Hankie alert

If you're watching the Rex in Rome series final tonight (SBS, 7.30pm), be sure to have a huge box of Kleenex close by. Expect a tsunami of tears.

And, no, it has nothing to do with Kaspar Capparoni doing his best Fabio impersonation as seen below in Pole Dancing 101. From the holes worn in the knees of his trousers, I'm guessing 'novice', right? A sight guaranteed to bring anyone to tears. I just had to share this. Hee.

So, what happens next? Earlier, a little SBS bird told me Stockinger would be re-run. Guess we'll have to see.
NEWFLASH! SBS have told me they are running repeats of the Brandtner series from next week.

Rex bonanza

A good Rex viewing week. 7.30, an original Rex, followed by the feature length Rex: The Beginning with Tobias Moretti. A nice Christmas present from SBS!

JAWOHL!

NEWSFLASH!

Check out the news here!

REX returns to Vienna. Wurstsemmel all round!

Guess it would be too much to ask if we could also have Hoffmann back?

Did you know.....

..that Martin Weinek is apparently appearing in the Italian Rex? Say, what?

Well, according to IMDB anyway...see here. I checked on YouTube to see if anyone had posted the evidence but no luck.

I thought Martin had given up acting to concentrate on viniculture. Good to see him back acting but in this?

As Kunz himself would say 'schrecklich'.

Check out the Wikipedia link for Martin here (thanks to Nikki).
