Inspector Rex soundtrack

I finally got a copy. I can't help thinking this is a bit of a money-making exercise though. For an Inspector Rex soundtrack, there's really very little in the way of music from the series, not even the original Inspector Rex theme, just the two tracks used in the Italian series. While I don't mind the classical music, it's not really featured in Rex.

Has anyone else got a copy? Nikki? What do you think?

And....something interesting in the poll section....seems we suddenly have an avid Brandtner fan. Somehow he's scored 150 plus votes in the past week or so. Voting that many times? That's dedication!

No, I haven't got the soundtrack, WS, and I'm not sure that I will. It didn't seem to me to have very much to do with Rex, really, when I read somewhere what tracks would be on there - sure, the classical Viennese tracks are nice but no original theme! Bitte?! And I think there's some Andre Rieu there too, isn't there...? Sorry if you're a fan of AR, WS, but he's a bit of a ham in my opinion!

I say, Bring on the Bacon, Nikki!

Not my cup of tea at all and, while I don't mind a little Strauss, I'd rather have seen the original soundtrack included and some of the background music from the original series.

Cynical as I am, a money grabbing effort for sure.

I'm with you, Wurst Semmel. A little bit of Strauss in the New Years Day concert, no problem. But Mr Rieu...mmmm. And there is so much terrific Rex music which they could have included. The chase scene music they always used in the early seasons, the soundtrack which they always put with the 'just wandering around Vienna, lovely day, charming dog' scenes. I have thought for some time that SBS are a bit cynical with their Rex fans, actually, and this CD confirms it.
